I Hate Hyperbole

I hate hyperbole.

Today, in response to Apple pointing out that other phones sometimes have issues with their antennas, several other manufacturers released statements. Nokia’s was particularly silly. Largely because of the following quote:

As you would expect from a company focused on connecting people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict.

Really? You never make a design decision that might impact performance? Of course you have. If you hadn’t then your phones would never drop a call, would have a huge battery and would have a ridiculous looking antenna. Your sexy N97 would now look something like this:
